Vestry Highlights July-September:
- Community Asset Mapping Event: In mid-September, The Table hosted a Community Asset Mapping event, led by the organization Partners for Sacred Spaces. 15 people from the community toured our facility, heard our story, and then brainstormed avenues to partner our assets (people, spaces, expertise, etc.). There was an infectious energy toward building relationships and organizing in ways that will help both us and our neighbors thrive. Partners will synthesize the event into a report for us and hold a debrief meeting in the coming days. Special thanks to Fr. Ben, Isaiah Fasoldt, Leah McMichael, Izzy Lilley, Sean Tienhaara, Ella Sternke, and Tom Johnson for planning and hosting the event!
- Adopted eight new financial policies for compliance with Episcopal Church standards, including cash handling, restricted gifts, disbursements, document retention, receivables & payables, property & equipment.
- Received full funding for the Sacred Forest Project through 2027.
- Personnel Committee (Nathan Baker, Tim Ludden, and RuthAnn Roney) proposed staffing needs including increased hours for co-vicars (from 28 to 30 hours per week individually) and for parish administrator (from 10 to 15 hours per week), pending final 2026 budget approval.
- The Finance Committee (Ken Racke, Nathan Baker, Ben Sternke, Logan Posson, RuthAnn Roney, and Jamie Dunn) reviewed 2025 income and expenses and is currently refining a proposed 2026 budget for Vestry review and approval by December. Initial estimates for 2026 include a 12% increase in operational expenses and a 15% increase in congregational giving, resulting in a potential deficit of 6%.
Future Plans:
- Fall Cleaning Day: October 18
- Review landscaping, snow removal, and building cleaning contracts.
- Further define children’s ministry needs and pursue grant funding for investment in this area.
- Vestry and Staff Leadership Retreat Oct 25 for strategic planning.
The Vestry welcomes your questions and participation in the course of our life together. We invite you to join us, or continue supporting our operational and Benevolence Fund ministries, and thank you for your partnership in stewarding our mission.
