Dear sisters and brothers,
One of our core practices as a church is proclaiming good news to one another and the world, something we call “gospeling“. It’s part of what we learn to do in DNA Groups, and how we seek to encourage one another in Table Groups.
It’s also part of our worship gathering each Sunday. For us, the sermon is not a long lecture to feed our curiosities or an inspirational speech to pump us up emotionally. It’s a simple proclamation of good news from Scripture (a.k.a. gospeling!) to move us toward a concrete response of faith together as a community.
We are blessed at The Table with a whole team of preachers (7 in all!), and right now we have three new people who are learning to preach among us. Our “College of Preachers” as we like to call them) is preaching during worship over the next few weeks!
I encourage you to listen to Josie Fasoldt’s sermon from last Sunday, and I invite you to be praying for Laura Hepker and Alissa Birkel, who will be preaching the next two weeks.
There’s lots of other stuff going on right now to make sure you’re aware of, including:
- The Table 101 class on Sunday mornings at 9am continues for two more weeks Jan 22 and 29.
- Our Annual Congregational Meeting is scheduled for Sunday Feb 5 at 9am.
- Also on Sunday Feb 5 we have our annual Blessing of the Candles and Reception of New Members (with a reception after worship!)
- JUST CONFIRMED: Liturgical Folk are coming to Indianapolis for a worship concert on March 13 (with our own Joel Rockey and friends opening)! Come and enjoy an evening of sacred music with our community this Lent.
It is a gift to be able to grow and be formed as Christ’s Body along with you.
In Christ,
Fr. Ben
