Dear Church,
Last Sunday we held our first congregational meeting, and to be honest, Fr. Ben and I were a bit concerned about it! We still had a couple budget decisions to make when we called a last-minute Vestry meeting last week.
Then Fr. Ben was traveling Wednesday through Saturday last week, so the two of us we met via video conference at 8am on Sunday morning to put the finishing touches on our agenda. We were feeling a a little pressure, a little unsure of how it would go (our first congregational meeting!), a little rushed putting it all together.
But, gosh, did we ever experience the Lord’s presence together! I’ve never ever thought to myself or heard anyone say, “Gee, I wish this congregational meeting would’ve gone on longer,” but that’s exactly what I heard from a number of you who were there! What a sweet time. If you missed it, you can listen to our conversation here:
All this to say: Fr. Ben and I are deeply thankful for the amazing energy and love y’all bring to our church. It is a joy to serve you and serve God alongside you.
What an honor and privilege it is to be Christ’s Church at The Table. May God sustain and empower us as we press on into 2020 together.
In Christ,
Fr. Matt
