I made a brief announcement this past Sunday (October 27) about our desire to partner with Anglican Immigrant Initiative to help host and sponsor asylum seekers who are currently living in detainment facilities.
Check out their website to see some of their vision and explanation of their mission: http://anglicanimmigrantinitiative.com
There are a number of families at The Table who are prayerfully discerning how we can assist a couple men from Uganda, Kokie and Max, who are looking for host homes.
You can read more about what that entails in this online document.
Would you take some time this week to look over the above links and pray for Kokie and Max? You can read a bit about them by clicking on the links below to read their sponsor cards:
This is a tangible way as a church for us to join in God’s mission in the world. We would be joining with other churches in the ACNA (our Province), and the Director of Anglican Immigrant Initiative 1) is a friend of mine, 2) lives here in Indiana in South Bend, and 3) is Amanda Austin’s sister!
If you have sense a stirring of the Spirit on this or would like to help please let us know.
May God’s justice prevail in our lives,
Fr. Matt
