Dear Church,
I am really excited for this Sunday (August 16 at 11:15am), when, after 22 weeks on Zoom, we will worship together outdoors, in-person at our building!
In order for us to all be on the same page about how we are gathering, please take some time today and read through the following:
- Read through the details of how we are gathering, including social distancing, face masks, hand sanitizer, Eucharist, and bringing your own lawn chairs and (quiet) kids activities.
- If you have kids, please read this important message from our Kids Coordinator Ryan Donoho. We won’t have a kids ministry time, but we want to be on the same page about how we are calling our kids into participation with us in worship.
This change is exciting, but it’s also going to take some planning and preparation on everyone’s part. For 22 weeks, preparation for worship has involved opening our computers and clicking a button, but now we’re going to need to factor in getting dressed (remember that?), getting our kids dressed, packing lawn chairs and blankets and face masks and snacks and appropriate activities for kids and factoring in time to get everyone into the car and drive to the building and find a spot on the lawn and get settled… !!
I encourage you to give yourself PLENTY of time! We’ll begin worship at 11:15am, but you’re free to arrive any time that morning to get settled.
I’m sure there will be hiccups and awkwardness and stuff we don’t get quite right this first time around, so let’s all give each other a lot of grace and an abundance of kindness as we begin this new season of our life together in Christ.
I hope to see you Sunday for worship!
Grace and peace,
Fr. Ben
