Church,
My mini-sabbatical begins this Saturday (June 1) and runs through the end of July. It was a strange feeling this past Sunday knowing that I would not be back worshiping with you all until August. You all have made The Table such a special community—whenever we are together there is such palpable love and joy alongside a rugged commitment to facing reality. It is a rare and beautiful thing and I will miss being with you over these next two months.
I will spend my summer leaning deeply into rest. Because I am co-vocational, I will continue my work as a realtor but having the opportunity to scale back my workload significantly is a precious gift, and it is coming at an important time. I am looking forward to the extra time with family and am hoping to get a lot of reading and long walks in. I will be traveling to Spain to do a portion of the Camino de Santiago from July 16-25th.
I would welcome your prayers for:
- Emotional and mental rejuvenation
- Restful and graceful rhythms for my body
- New depths of spiritual growth
See you all in August!
Grace and peace,
Spencer+
