A quick word on how we worship…
Anglican worship is centered on an encounter with Jesus.
We worship in the same basic pattern that most Christians have worshiped through the centuries. We sing God’s praises, we hear God’s Word and we respond through prayers and confession. We offer ourselves to God as we celebrate Holy Communion and we are sent out with a blessing to do God’s work.
Anglican worship is ancient and modern.
The new (modern instruments, new songs, projection screens, HVAC systems) and the old (chalices, candles, ancient prayers, historic creeds) work together to create a worship experience that is consistent with our past and fitting for our future.
We gather for worship Sundays at 10:30am at 609 E 29th St in Indy (The Chapel at Broadway UMC)
Everyone is welcome. You don’t need to wear anything fancy or know anything special.
Don’t expect a big concert or special effects. It’s a pretty simple service, and it does have an intentional structure to it (hearing God speak to us, and responding as a community), but the liturgy will be written out for you, and you’ll have friends around you to help you navigate the movements.
About kids: bring ’em if you got ’em! We like kids. There is a nursery available for kids up to age 3. For older kids, right now (as volunteers are available), we are offering on alternating Sundays:
- A class for kids age 4 through 4th grade, and
- A class for kids 5th-8th grade.
After the passing of the peace, all kids rejoin the adults for communion.
