Confirmation is a sacramental rite in which “we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop” (BCP p. 860). It is a practice of maturity and mission available to all baptized Christians, adults and youth (starting around age 12). There will be an opportunity to be confirmed this year when Bishop Jennifer visits The Table on Sunday, April 27.
Because those to be confirmed “must be baptized and sufficiently instructed in the Christian Faith,” all who are exploring confirmation should plan to attend our Sunday morning (9am) Lent class this year on the “Holy Mysteries” of the Christian faith.
If you or your child would like to be confirmed, or have any questions about it, contact Fr. Ben.
