Church,
We are a few weeks away from the beginning of Advent, the beginning of the liturgical calendar. Advent is a season of waiting and longing where we revisit scripture texts about Israel awaiting a Messiah who would delver them from oppression, create justice and peace, and rule according to God’s good designs.
During Advent we want to create space for continued processing about how to be the church together in this season. So on December 8, 15, and 22 at 9am in the Parish Hall, we will host a Faith and Politics, Part 2 discussion, where we will explore together how to be the church in this time. This discussion will be more action-oriented and focus on “what now” in light of our current political climate.
I invite you to join us for these discussions as we discern together what Christ is doing in our midst; our Advent hope resting firmly on the incarnation of Jesus and his assuming human flesh as a way of reclaiming the world.
As the days get shorter and the nights get colder let us continue steadfast in our faith together, holding onto the promise of a world in which all is made new.
Praying with and for you this day,
Fr. Matt
