We prayed over and blessed the Donoho family this past Sunday as they settle into a church more local to their residence. What a gift their family has been to The Table these past 9 years! Below is a letter from Ryan to the church about their departure.
The Donoho family would like to thank the people of The Table for the blessing you all have been to us these past 9+ years. Through much discernment and prayer it has become clear to us that it is time for us to join a new church community that is local to where we live. Loving our neighbors in the place we live, and helping build up the church locally has always been important to us. This change helps us to continue that work in Fishers. Specifically, we’ve connected with Geist Christian Church at Promise Road. Like The Table, they practice shared leadership, share the pulpit, care about justice for the marginalized and have been involved with helping those facing food insecurity. Working alongside their staff, we’re helping them develop something similar to Table Groups, drawing from our experience with The Table.
However, nothing is a replacement for The Table. The Table has been a special place that has formed us deeply. The Table will always be a part of us. It’s been quite a journey since sitting on the Sternke’s couch discerning with the Sternkes, Tebbes, and Knopfmeiers if we should move to Fishers and join with them in planting The Table. Our kids have grown up with The Table, from 6 weeks (Kacey) and 2 years (Breann) to 9 and 11 years old. We’ve also grown as disciples of Jesus and learned a lot.
A major part of what makes The Table so special, are the amazing people who make up The Table. We were often amazed at how our little church was so stocked with incredible people. At times, it almost felt like we were unfairly collecting all these great people, and we needed to share some with other churches that could really benefit from a few people of this quality in their midst. Thank you for sharing yourselves and your gifts with us.
Blessings to you all,
Ryan, Krista, Breann and Kacey Donoho
