This year our 6-week Lent class is titled Growing as Disciples. Sundays at 9am, starting February 22, we will be discussing a few essentials of the ongoing life we are called to grow into as Christians, opening ourselves to personal transformation and, as a church, becoming a learning community.
The outline for the class is based on Rowan Williams’ book Being Disciples: Essentials of the Christian Life (a follow-up to Being Christian, which we read last year during Lent). Everyone is welcome to read the book, but you do not need to do so to benefit from the class. We will talk about:
- What it means to be a disciple,
- How faith, hope, and love are meant to grow in our lives,
- How forgiveness actually works,
- What holiness is (and isn’t),
- What it means to live out our faith in society, and
- What life in the Spirit looks like.
We hope you can join us for this exploration of the journey of ongoing growth and transformation we are called to as Christians.
