Our Kids Ministry Team has been hard at work, and we have some news to share! First, you may have noticed that children in K-5th grade are participating in a kids worship time on Sunday mornings during our regular Eucharistic service. Our current plan is to gather for this time three Sundays each month (2nd/3rd/4th Sundays). We will be returning to the practice of blessing kids and volunteers during our Eucharistic service and sending them out for a developmentally-responsive discipleship time; we will continue welcoming them back during the Passing of the Peace.
Second, we will be offering a discipleship class for kids (K-5th) during Advent on Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00, following “The Will to Dream” lessons from Illustrated Ministry (illustratedministry.com). This year’s theme will connect with our longings for the world to be made whole, exploring the prophetic imagination and learning to practice persistent courage that can imagine, resist, and rebuild a better world.
If you are interested in offering your time or talents with kids ministry, we welcome your gifts. We are continuing to build a team of volunteers who can help with kids worship or morning classes on a bi-monthly rotation. Or, if you are a crafter, a builder, or a space-maker, we invite your partnership for short-term projects. Contact Andrea, Josie, or Marissa if you have interest or want to find out more about serving in any of these ways with Kids Ministry at The Table.
