Dear Church,
As we enter the third week of Lent together, pause with me to assess where God is at work in our common life together:
- What appetite is there a deep invitation from the Spirit for you to entrust to Jesus?
- Where are there moments of silence for you to contemplate the vastness of God’s love that holds every second – and every molecule in every second – together?
- How can you allow generosity towards others today? Where do you have a scarcity mentality – time, money, energy, food – and how can you meet God there in faith being generous to others?
I’m experiencing a great confrontation with my anxiety as I fast from using my phone to browse the web. Many times a day I reach for my phone to search for something I’m curious about or look up something on social media only to be reminded to breathe, pray, surrender, receive.
Wherever your Lenten practice is taking you, I pray today the Lord would strengthen you on this journey. I pray that you would know how insurmountable God’s love is for you and that you would be filled with all the fullness of God.
Grace and Peace, beloved,
Fr. Matt
