We envision The Table becoming a multiplying movement of Jesus-worshiping congregations that stay networked together under a common vision of encountering, embodying, and extending the presence of Christ in neighborhoods and networks all over Indianapolis.
Currently people from all over the Indy area come to worship together at our worship space just east of Broad Ripple, and we’ve identified the (likely) location of our first future worshiping congregation. There’s a story behind it!
In 2015, Spencer and Mallory Ruark moved to Bates-Hendricks, a neighborhood just south of downtown, to plant a church. Early on, they connected with leaders at The Table and began to talk about collaboration and partnership.
Spencer and Mallory are currently leading in several areas at The Table with an eye towards planting a sister congregation when it seems good to us and the Holy Spirit. There is already a strong community forming around discipleship groups and a shared weekly meal in Bates-Hendricks. Spencer has been ordained as a transitional Deacon and is working toward ordination to the Priesthood.
