We are excited to announce that we have called Becca Ito to a one-year full time “fellowship” staff position focused on kids, youth, families, and community engagement. Becca has already served The Table as Coordinator for Kids’ Liturgical Arts for the last two years. Now this one-year fellowship, funded partially through a grant but mostly through the generosity of several families at The Table, will allow us to establish rhythms that support spiritual formation in our young people, build structures that sustain our families, and host events that extend the love of God to our neighbors.
Over the past few years, we have been sensing a need to invest more intentionally and robustly in ministry to youth and kids at The Table, and through a series of conversations with families, Vestry, Clergy, Staff, and Becca, we settled on a plan to call Becca to serve The Table for one year in this capacity.
She will be focusing on establishing our ministries to children, youth, and families so they can be handed off to part-time staff and volunteers to lead after the year is up. Becca will also be assisting in establishing a community engagement ministry at The Table, following up with relationships and ideas cultivated at our Community Asset Mapping event this past September.
We are so grateful to our current volunteer kids ministry team of Josie Fasoldt, Andrea Reinhardt, and Marissa Crawford for their resilient, creative work with our children for the past several months, and to our clergy and lay leadership who have helped Becca discern this role since this past summer. Becca has resigned from her full-time job as an educator—she’s been teaching since 2017!—and is looking forward to setting up times to listen to what we desire and dream for our church to become with these dedicated funds and role.
