For the past four years, Fr. Spencer Ruark has served as a Co-Vicar at The Table Episcopal Church in Indianapolis. Today, he is announcing his reception of a new call to serve full time as the Associate Rector at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church in Carmel, Ind., alongside the Rev. Cara Spaccarelli, Rector, as of February 1, 2025.
We are grateful, along with Co-Vicars Fr. Ben Sternke and Fr. Matt Tebbe, that Fr. Spencer will remain in the Diocese of Indianapolis. Of course, we also grieve that he and his family will not be part of our church community in this next season of life together. Since joining The Table in 2016, Fr. Spencer has been instrumental in the life and growth of the church. In recent years as Co-Vicar, he has been responsible for children’s and youth ministry programming, administering work with the Vestry, and overseeing the building move in 2024.
Fr. Spencer and Mallory have enriched our lives at The Table by faithfully heeding calls to ministry and spurring us to come as we are before God and one another. We are a community marked by their contributions. We will miss them, Camryn, and Remy, while also celebrating what God is doing with Fr. Spencer’s new role at St. Christopher’s!
The Vestry will host a send-off reception for the Ruarks on Sunday, January 26 at 9am in the Parish Hall before Eucharist.
Please join us in congratulating Fr. Spencer on this new calling, and also hold the Ruarks and our community in prayer as we navigate this transition together.
Feel free to reach out to us, Fr. Spencer, Fr. Matt, or Fr. Ben if you have any questions or would like to chat further about this.
In Christ,
Donna Romack, Senior Warden
Nathan Baker, Junior Warden
